OVERVIEW
This course is for paddlers who can already roll on flat water and want to feel more confident using the roll in more demanding conditions.
The goal is to make the kayak roll a reliable tool—even in wind, breaking waves, and surf. Throughout the day, we gradually increase the level of difficulty and practice in progressively more challenging conditions. The course is tailored individually to each participant, allowing you to work on exactly what you need to further develop your roll—whether that’s technique, timing, orientation, or confidence in exposed situations.
The focus is on mastery, progression, and safe practice in realistic conditions, with close instruction and guidance throughout.
June is an ideal time, as the Oslofjord begins to warm up compared to the spring months. In early June, water temperatures in the outer Oslofjord can be expected to be around 12–15 °C. This provides more comfortable conditions for repeated rolling practice (we still use drysuits) and supports better learning outcomes throughout the day. The course is planned with sufficient breaks to ensure warmth and recovery.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
In bad weather, the arranged activity will continue regardless. If the weather conditions are dangerous, the instructor will cancel the activity. If no alternative is found, Norvantur will refund the registration.
SAFETY
Our outdoor activities have a minimal risk to our participants. At Norvantur, we are trained to assess the risks and trained in rescue techniques and first aid. Severe or extreme conditions are not part of our program.
CANCELLATION
In case of cancellation by the participant, we charge cancellation costs. These cancellation costs depend on the number of days remaining until the start of the activity. Participants cannot claim compensation in case of cancellation due to ‘force majeure’. In case of cancellation of the activity by Norvantur, the full registration sum will always be refunded. For safety reasons it may be necessary to change the program during the activity.
