NORDIC SKATING

Our focus is on safety on ice, equipment, assessing the ice conditions, skate technique and strategy while exploring the ice with gentle speed. During the course, we identify and discuss hazard areas. Among our drills is training on how to rescue people if they fall through the ice.

WINTER ExPEdition

This course will help you prepare for a winter trekking and give you the opportunity to test equipment. We will tour with sledges and exercise navigation in daylight and darkness. We will also discuss risks and safe routes, and we will practice making emergency shelters and how to set up tents and use stoves safely inside tents.

This 2-hour webinar covers all aspects of winter trekking from planning and equipment to emergency preparedness and safety, helping you experience the best of winter adventures. The webinar is set up for personalized interaction and plenty of Q&A.

FIRST AID in the outdoors

Course for people with no prior first aid knowledge and those who want to refresh existing skills. Based on illnesses and injuries that can occur on a trip, this course includes case studies and plenty of outdoor training in small groups.

CANOE BASICS

The course covers flatwater paddling and emphasizes precise and efficient control of the canoe, both when paddling alone and in tandem. Canoe over canoe rescues and canoe loading and trimming are also covered together with other safety topics. You qualify for the NPF wetcard Basics by completing this course.

CANOE INTERMEDIATE

As you gain or improve skills to paddle a solo or tandem canoe on whitewater, this course will help you prepare for your next canoe trip. Safety, paddling strokes, canoe manoeuvres, tactics, rescue and whitewater swimming are covered in this course. You qualify for the NPF wetcard Technique by completing this course.

CANOE SAFETY AND RESCUE

Safety, tactics, rescue and whitewater swimming are covered in this course while paddling canoes on whitewater and finetuning paddling strokes and canoe manoeuvres. You qualify for the NPF wetcard Safety by completing this course.

River Running Canoe WEEKEND

For those who have a good grasp of the basics and are looking for having fun on the river while working on their river running strategies and tune their whitewater skills.  Our River Running Canoe weekend is the perfect way to practice your paddling skills before performing your own whitewater trip!

This weekend on the river is organized as a trip, with an overnight camp alongside the river. While paddling down the river we will work on river running strategies and whitewater skills.

Open Water canoeing

This course will give you skills you need to canoe on open waters. Courses are hold along the coastline and covers skills like paddling in wind and waves. This course suits any level of paddlers to develop their canoeing skills by working on essential strokes, tactical decision making in wind & waves and the use of sails.

CANOE LEADER COURSE

This course enhances your leadership and instructional skills, equipping you to make sound decisions and lead groups on lakes, rivers, and sheltered ocean environments. You'll also learn to effectively teach canoeing techniques. Completion qualifies you as an NPF Activity Leader.

NORWEGIAN CANOE ASSOCIATIOn NPF COURSES, BASICS

These courses are designed to give you a grounding in basic sea kayaking and safety skills. In most of the Norwegian sea kayak-rental places you need a NPF “Wet Card” certification to rent a kayak. We offer two NPF courses that qualify for a Wet Card: an introduction course (4 hours) and a NPF Beginner course (16 hours).

NORWEGIAN CANOE ASSOCIATIOn NPF COURSES, INTERMEDIATE

This two-day course is designed to help you advance as a kayak paddler. We focus on improving your paddling technique and enhancing your ability to maneuver the kayak with greater precision. The course places extra emphasis on safety and introduces a wider range of rescue techniques. You will also receive an introduction to rolling.

The course qualifies for the NPF “technique 3* course for the Norwegian Canoe association. To participate, you must have completed a Basic Course and have the desire to further develop your skills as a paddler.

Intermediate sea kayaking personal skills training in  dynamic environments (in wind, waves and rock gardens)

We help you to develop your overall sea kayak skills by offering personal skills training from expanding your paddle stroke toolbox to boat handling in dynamic environments (wind, waves and rock gardens).

Spend five days paddling and training along the stunning Helgeland coast, just south of the Arctic Circle. The expedition blends exploration of this wild and varied coastline, with hands-on training and the ISKGA expedition skills module, building the practical skills and judgement needed for future expeditions.

Kayak roll in dynamic conditions

This course is for paddlers who can already roll on flat water and want to feel more confident using the roll in more demanding conditions.

The goal is to make the kayak roll a reliable tool—even in wind, breaking waves, and surf. Throughout the day, we gradually increase the level of difficulty and practice in progressively more challenging conditions.
