OVERVIEW

For those who have a good grasp of the basics and are looking for having fun on the river while working on their river running strategies and tune their whitewater skills.  Our River Running Canoe weekend is the perfect way to practice your paddling skills before performing your own whitewater trip!

This weekend on the river is organized as a trip, with an overnight camp alongside the river. While paddling down the river we will work on river running strategies and whitewater skills.

  • Improve paddling skills and whitewater maneuvers (solo and tandem)

  • Planning whitewater canoeing (multi-day) trips

  • Identification of whitewater hazards and river scouting

  • River running strategies for individuals/groups on whitewater river trips

PRICES

This event costs 3000 NOK. Equipment can be hired (Canoe: 500 NOK/day). Meals not included.

Group size and guide ratio

Maximum participants are 6, guide ratio is 1:3.

Two-day course: Saturday 10.00- Sunday 16.00

Location

Class I-II river, whitin 3-hour drive from Oslo.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

In bad weather, the arranged activity will continue regardless. If the weather conditions are dangerous, the instructor will cancel the activity. If no alternative is found, Norvantur will refund the registration.

SAFETY

Our outdoor activities have a minimal risk to our participants. At Norvantur, we are trained to assess the risks and trained in rescue techniques and first aid. Severe or extreme conditions are not part of our program.

CANCELLATION

In case of cancellation by the participant, we charge cancellation costs. These cancellation costs depend on the number of days remaining until the start of the activity. Participants cannot claim compensation in case of cancellation due to ‘force majeure’. In case of cancellation of the activity by Norvantur, the full registration sum will always be refunded. For safety reasons it may be necessary to change the program during the activity.

COVID-19

If you cannot participate to booked activities due to travel restrictions such as border closures, flight suspensions, quarantine, you can postpone the activity or ask for a refund of any pre-payments.
